Pete Fitzsimmons and Slipstick III
Slipstick III has now progressed to the paint shop, and although I've made the above suggestion to its patriotic look, Pete Fitzsimmons of Fitz Graphixwas allowed to exercise his creative license to give my L3 rocket a unique look. I've used Pete several times when I was on the national dirt track racing circuit to paint my race bikes and my Daytona road racer back in 2000, so he is eminently qualified to paint extreme vehicles, like dragsters, Daytona race bikes and now, rocket ships.

Pete retained the visual of the carbon fibered fins, blending a metallic charcoal into a silver sliver toward the nose cone. Each fin was appointed a red white or blue trim which became thicker as they reached toward the sky, the blue field becoming more dominant with a field of stars, some of which were accented with a jetstream look. The entire rocket was painted assembled on a custom rotating jig that Pete came up with, and after it was all finished the rocket sections still separated easily.
