MechWars V HW Runner Up
This HW bot bot is designed using what I learned building Flexy-Flyer, SHW Pro-Am BB5 and
HW DiskoTek and have incorporated as much of the good stuff as possible. Like
Flexy-Flyer and Pro-AM, it's chassis
is made entirely out of thin walled 4130 chromolly steel tubing
and weighs in at 220 lbs. The bottom armour is also 4130, but not as thick as Pro-AM's
because MechWars does not have kill saws like Battlebots
and the top covers are stainless steel. There is a spring steel gaurd that
goes around the wheels to protect against spinners.
The weapon, a chain driven 'muncher, is made from tool steel and tempered.

During the fights we burned up one victor, and some wiring, and during the many lunges at
opponents the frame members that support the weapon bearings finally gave way,
which we didn't notice until we got home.
